Frequently asked questions

Sales to professionals, the M1 to M4 mobility scale, warranty, technical support and components for water prostheses.

Does Metiz Brasil sell directly to the patient?

No. Metiz Brasil sells to prosthetists, clinics and distributors. The prosthetist selects and assembles the component, after assessing the amputation level, weight, routine and mobility level of the user.

What is the M1 to M4 mobility scale?

It is the scale METIZ uses in its datasheets to indicate the activity level of the user for each component, from M1, the lowest, to M4, the highest. It is not the Medicare K classification (K0 to K4), used by many professionals, and METIZ does not publish an equivalence between the two. Reading the case is up to the prosthetist.

How do I buy the components?

Through authorized distributors or directly from the Metiz Brasil sales team, by WhatsApp (15) 99645-6373 or by e-mail at contato@metizbrasil.com.br.

Do the products have a warranty?

Yes. The term varies by component and is stated at purchase by the Metiz Brasil team.

Does Metiz Brasil offer technical support?

Yes. The team serves health professionals and technicians with support on selection and adjustment, training and educational materials. The YouTube channel has the setup guide for the 6H30B hydraulic knee.

Which knee in the line is suitable for a water prosthesis?

The 6H30B hydraulic knee, which is waterproof and has a mechanical lock in extension. The other knees in the line are not stated by the manufacturer to be water resistant.

Can the 1H17Y foot go in the sea?

Yes. According to the manufacturer, the 1H17Y carbon foot can be used in fresh, salt and chlorinated water. Cleaning after use follows the manual that comes with the product.

Hydraulic or pneumatic knee: what is the difference?

Both control the swing phase with a fluid: the hydraulic uses oil and the pneumatic uses air. In the Metiz line, the 6H30B hydraulic also offers resistance in the stance phase and serves up to 150 kg, while the 6H23 and 6H25 pneumatics serve up to 100 kg and 125 kg. The choice depends on the prosthetist's assessment.

How do I choose the stiffness category of a carbon foot?

By the weight of the user and the activity level. The datasheet of each foot gives the weight range, and the one for the 1H20Y has the table of maximum weight by category and size.
