Components for water prostheses
SACH bath foot, carbon feet for fresh, salt and chlorinated water, waterproof hydraulic knee and stainless tube: the Metiz line for water prostheses.

Short answer: the Metiz line has five components for a water prosthesis. The manufacturer states that the 6H30B hydraulic knee, the 1H17Y and 1H17YBLP carbon feet and the 1H02B SACH bath foot are water resistant. The 3H01BC stainless steel tube is recommended by Metiz Brasil for this use.
Why a prosthesis only for water
A standard component was not made to get wet. To go into the shower, the pool or the sea with the prosthesis, every part needs water resistance stated by the manufacturer.
The water line
Hydraulic knee
up to 150 kg · waterproof
Waterproof carbon foot
up to 150 kg · waterproof
Low-profile carbon foot
up to 150 kg · waterproof
SACH bath foot
up to 100 kg · waterproof
Stainless steel tube adapter

What each datasheet states
| Component | What the datasheet states |
|---|---|
| 6H30B hydraulic knee | waterproof, with a mechanical lock in extension for safety in the water; works from −10 to +40 °C |
| 1H17Y carbon foot | use in fresh, salt and chlorinated water; cover with drainage holes |
| 1H17YBLP low-profile carbon foot | can be used in a swimming prosthesis |
| 1H02B SACH bath foot | made for a waterproof prosthesis; comes assembled with the adapter |
| 3H01BC400 tube adapter | stainless steel; Metiz Brasil recommends it for a water prosthesis |
What to check with the prosthetist
- Whether the socket, the liner and the suspension system are also suitable for water. These parts are not part of the Metiz line.
- The maximum weight and the mobility level of each component, in the technical datasheet.
- The operating temperature range, especially in hot water or cold weather.
- Cleaning after salt or chlorinated water, following the manual that comes with the product.
